Lars Ny new Head of Department at Gothia Forum

As Gothia Forum for Clinical Research enters its seventh year,  Lars Ny will betaking over as Head of Department in January 2016. This is part of the effort to strengthen clinical research in Västra Götaland.

 - With a vast experience of clinical research in the academy and healthcare as well as the industry, Lars is well equipped to take Gothia Forum into its next phase, says Lars Grip, Director of R&D and associate Director of Sahlgrenska University Hospital.  

With a background as clinical pharmacologist and oncologist Lars Ny is currently medically responsible at the clinical research center of oncology at Sahlgrenska University hospital. He is also associate professor and acting senior lecturer at ahlgrenska Academy and has worked as a research doctor at AstraZeneca for a period of time.

 - Gothia Forum is established as an important support unit for clinical research conducted at Sahlgrenska University Hospital as well as in the region. Together with co-workers, I am really looking forward to continuing developing Gothia Forum  in ways beneficial for the patient and with enhanced cooperation with the academy and industry, says Lars Ny.

Being a unit within the Region Västra Götaland, Gothia Forum is assigned to strengthen clinical research in the region and thereby contributing to developing better care and treatment for patients as well as to regional and national growth within the area of Life Science. Since 2015 Gothia Forum is also assigned a position as regional node, a point of contact for clinical research in "Västra Sjukvårdsregionen" (western part of Sweden)  thereby being part in a national coordination system for clinical studies.

Gothia Forum consists of  Research Support Office (RSO),Sahlgrenska biobank (SaB), Clinical Trial Center (CTC), Primary care Trial Center (PTC), Verksamhetsutveckling, administration och strategiskt stöd.
